Indian women’s football team to face Brazil, Chile and Venezuela in Manaus | Football news

The Indian Football Association (AIFF) organized the participation of the Indian Senior Women’s National Team in an international tournament in Manaus, where they will play three matches against Brazil, Chile and Venezuela.

The Indian women will begin their campaign against Brazil on November 25, followed by matches against Chile on November 28 and Venezuela on December 1. In fact, it will be the first time that an Indian senior national team has played against Brazil, Chile or Venezuela.

Former FIFA Women’s World Cup finalists Brazil are ranked 7th in the FIFA Women’s Football Ranking, while Chile are at 37th and Venezuela at 56th. India is currently ranked 57th.

The exhibition tour is part of the preparation of the Indian women’s team for the upcoming 2022 AFC India Women’s Asian Cup. The Indian women traveled to Dubai, Bahrain and Sweden last month for play a series of friendlies, while by early 2021 they had traveled to Turkey and Uzbekistan for international exhibition tours.

“As a governing body, we want to provide the best platform for the preparation of our senior women’s team as they prepare for the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup India. Brazil and Chile are regular World Cup teams, and I am confident playing against such opposition will help our women’s team grow, ”said Kushal Das, AIFF General Secretary in an official statement.

“We are also in the final stages of finalizing the schedule for the Four Nations Tournament in Kerala in December so that the women’s team gains valuable international visibility,” added the Secretary General. (ANI)
