Leicester City tipped for success with Champions League commentary

Match-of-the-day expert Mark Lawrenson backed Leicester City to a clear victory over Watford.

Claudio Ranieri’s men will visit King Power Stadium as City look to get their season off to a good start.

The game comes after an impressive performance in a 3-1 victory over Legia Warsaw at the King Power Stadium on Thursday night.

Despite a poor start to the season, Lawrenson believes City will run out of 3-0 winners on Sunday afternoon.

“Watford boss Claudio Ranieri returns to King Power Stadium with his former Leicester team struggling to find their feet” Lawrenson noted.

“The Hornets have had their ups and downs under Ranieri. They didn’t build on their other big win under him, a 5-2 win at Everton, so I didn’t really want them to win here either. – even though they did it a job on Manchester United last time around.

“Leicester should win, but I’ve said that a lot about them this season.”

Lawrenson faced rapper and Arsenal fan Jelani Blackman in his prediction contest – Blackman calling for City a 3-2 win.

He said: “Leicester haven’t really started this season yet, but they’ll look at the table and think they’re still in the hunt for Champions League places.

“They will surely burst to life at some point.”
