Atletico Madrid midfielder agent Saul Niguez has spoken of a possible Premier League move this summer.

The Spain international has gone through the Atletico academy and has been a key player for several years, helping them win two La Liga titles, including the one they stepped into last season under Diego Simeone.

But having spent most of his career at the club, he reportedly decided it was time to move on, with both Liverpool and Barcelona being closely linked.

Manchester United have been linked with a move for the 26-year-old in the past and although there are currently rumors that he is a target this summer, MEN Sport understand that he is not a priority target at this time. .

If Paul Pogba or Donny van de Beek leave the club this summer, that could change, with United already keen to add to their midfielder options, but do not plan to leave their first-team stars just yet.

His agent Jonathan Barnett, who is also Gareth Bale’s representative, has spoken publicly about a potential move for his Spanish client this summer, saying he will do what is best for him.

“Nothing has been decided, Saul has as many options to stay as to leave,” he told Diario AS.

“Saul will make his future what is best for Saul.”

The club are said to be in negotiations with Barcelona over a swap deal that would see Antoine Griezmann return to Wanda Metropolitano, while Liverpool would monitor their situation with the club setting an asking price of around € 80million for a transfer that will take place this summer. .

Niguez still has five years on his contract which expires in 2026, having signed an incredible nine-year contract with the club in 2017.
