Seymour, Shepparton United, Moama record wins in SDJFL Youth Girls competition

Seymour recorded her fourth win of the Shepparton District Junior Football League girls’ season this weekend.

The Lions beat Shepparton Notre-Mooroopna 13.11 (89) to 5.1 (31), Lucy Dawe scoring four goals and Bree Merrifield, Kayla Davidson and Chloe Locke scoring two goals apiece.

Another key player was Tanisha Welsh, who played back and front during the game and showed her strength and composure when needed, while Kaitlyn Sweet and Kayla Davidson showed they can be the attackers the team needs to distribute the load.

For the Bears, Shakayla Deer, Marnie Scholz, Hannah Scott, Chloe Ahern and Amahli Taylor hit the scoreboard.

Shepparton United claimed the sixth victory after fighting their way to victory over compatriot Shepparton, the Swans.

The Demons defeated the Swans 7.6 (48) to 4.1 (25).

Cassidy Mailer took her season tally to 28 in seven appearances with two goals, while Ashleigh Pimlott and Sierra Tejones also scored two goals each for the Demons.

Tayissa Gray, Madison Gray and Madelyn Andronaco were goal scorers for the Swans.

Moama also won their sixth game of the campaign, but with one game less against United, the Magpies are the only undefeated team in the competition.

The Magpies kept a clean sheet against Echuca United, winning 20.19 (139) to 0.0 (0).

Charlotte McGillivray was the star, scoring eight goals, while Charlii Dorrity added five.

Kaitlyn Davidson was named best on floor.
