Thanks to Twitter, Kerala Blasters set to play friendly with Indian national team in Kerala

Thanks to Twitter, the stage is almost set for a friendly football match between the Kerala Blasters and the Indian men’s national team in Kerala in September.

The agreement was reached between Igor Stimac, the head coach of the Indian men’s football team and Ivan Vukomanovic, the head coach of the Kerala Blasters, during a friendly exchange on Twitter.

It was Blasters manager Ivan Vukomanovic who started a conversation when he “quote tweeted” a Stimac tweet.

The other day, Stimac had tweeted, “I want the next camp and NT games to be held in KERALA in September. Time to broadcast South Indian football as well and feel the love and love Southern fans passion too. KOLKATA is special to me & we will see you again soon. KERALA, let’s come together to show what we can. JaiHind.”

Vukomanovic had a proposal for his European compatriot. “So that means we Kerala Blasters will have a friendly match against the national team… I like it! Kerala, get ready! Blue Tigers are coming in September.”

Stimac was up for the idea. “Why not,” he replied. But he had one condition. “.. NT players who play for India from KB will play for India and I’m sure Kerala will paint everything blue for NT for FIFA games…”

And Vukomanovic replied: “No problem about that. All Kerala Blasters players

on the NT roster would play for NT. We would be very proud to see our boys wearing an NT shirt.”
